The parallel electric drive bridge used by Isuzu EV contains SiC silicon carbide controller, flat wire motor and two-stage reducer, and is matched with the low rolling resistance axle design developed by Qingling Isuzu, which makes its power performance even better. The rated power of the vehicle is 100 kilowatts, the peak power is 185 kilowatts (252 horsepower), and its power performance is outstanding. Compared with the round wire motor used in traditional electric light trucks, the flat wire motor used by Isuzu EV is called bar winding motor, which means that the motor stator is composed of flat copper wire winding with a rectangular cross section. Compared with traditional round wire motors, flat wire has a significant cross-sectional area change, which can effectively reduce winding resistance and thus reduce copper loss. Compared with the traditional Si silicon element controller (including IGBT), although its manufacturing cost is higher, the SiC silicon carbide controller used by Isuzu EVM600 has the characteristics of higher efficiency, high voltage resistance, high switching frequency, and low loss. The motor control module built with this element can effectively improve the actual cruising range of the vehicle and achieve better braking energy recovery efficiency.
At the same time, the use of parallel electric drive axles has three major advantages. First, there is no need to install components such as drive shafts and some cross universal joints, which can reduce the weight of the vehicle. Second, the space in the middle of the entire chassis is released, which can be used to place larger and more endurance battery packs. Third, it can effectively improve the transmission efficiency of the vehicle, and the transmission efficiency of the actual model is ≥95%.
Part of the loss of electric energy comes from heat. In terms of controlling heat, Isuzu EV uses an electric control system made of silicon carbide (SiC). Compared with the traditional IGBT crystal core, silicon carbide has a low heat generation and a maximum efficiency of 99.5%, which is also the mainstream of the current electric control system and the general trend of the future.
● Super long battery life and stronger power
The battery pack of the Isuzu EVM600 electric chassis vehicle uses the latest integrated lithium iron phosphate battery pack developed by CATL, with a capacity of 106.95kwh, located on both sides of the frame. Compared with traditional battery packs, the single-pack battery used in the new car can reduce the number of high-voltage wire harnesses and brackets inside the box, helping to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle. Secondly, the cruising range of this model under the WLTC constant speed method can reach 480km, taking into account the cruising range requirements of truck drivers in daily operations.
The CATL Times lithium iron phosphate battery pack used in Isuzu EV has passed six extreme destructive tests. While ensuring lightweight, it also improves safety. After the vehicle collides, the battery automatically cuts off power to prevent secondary damage.
The side placement of the battery pack can also bring two major benefits. First, from a physical structure point of view, it can effectively prevent the vehicle from tilting when turning under no-load or light-load conditions, making the vehicle's handling more excellent.
